Law City Supports the Scouts – 2026 Sailing Season

The 2026 sailing season was officially opened by the 10th Sailing Scout Troop named after General Mariusz Zaruski during a ceremony by Lake Morawa in Katowice. The event brought together scouts, local residents and city officials, and marked an important moment for the local community.

The ceremonial assembly began promptly at noon at the new water base, where the scout flag was raised and the sailing equipment was launched. This year’s opening had special significance — new boats were also launched, acquired in part thanks to the support of the Law City law firm as part of its non-profit activities.

The firm’s involvement in this project is part of a broader corporate social responsibility strategy focused on supporting initiatives that develop young people, sport, and the activity of local communities. The partnership with the 10th Sailing Scout Troop is an example of the real impact pro bono work can have on developing infrastructure and training opportunities for young sailors.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Katowice, Marcin Krupa, who highlighted the importance of scouting activity for promoting the city and fostering social integration. He also drew attention to the potential of Katowice’s recreational areas, which are well suited to supporting such initiatives.

It is worth recalling that in June 2022 a new water base for the 10th Sailing Scout Troop was opened by Lake Morawa. This investment significantly boosted the troop’s activities, opening up new training and organisational opportunities for its members.

The work of organisations such as the 10th Sailing Scout Troop, together with support from private entities, shows how important cooperation between the social sector and business can be. For the Law City law firm, initiatives of this kind are an important part of its mission — building strong, active and responsible communities.
